# How to check that you are ready to go live

This guide shows you how to check your setup before guests rely on it: your properties, your messages and the guest portal.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Before you start**

* Your PMS is connected and the first sync is done. See [How to connect your PMS](/guestway_onboarding/how-to-connect-your-pms.md).
  {% endhint %}

## Check your properties and reservations

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

### Check the properties

Go to **Properties**. Check that your listings are all there.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Check the conversations

Open the **Inbox**. Each reservation has a conversation, also when no messages were sent yet.

To hide the conversations without messages, click **⋮** next to the quick filters and choose **Hide dormant conversations**. **Show all conversations** shows them again.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

## Send a test message

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

### Write to yourself

From your own phone, send a message to your business number on WhatsApp, or send a message from a test booking on one of your channels.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Reply from Guestway

Check that the message appears in the inbox. Reply to it, and check that the reply reaches your phone or the chat of the channel.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

## Open the guest portal as a guest

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

### Open a reservation

In the inbox, open a conversation with an upcoming reservation.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Open the guest portal

In the header of the details panel, click **View in Guest Portal**. The portal opens as the guest sees it: check your branding, the check-in steps, the upsells and the guidebooks.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

When all three checks pass, your account is ready for your guests.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.guestway.io/guestway_onboarding/how-to-check-that-you-are-ready-to-go-live.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
